Important Note:

Before configuring Google email sending in Certopus, you need to generate an App Password from your Google Account.

  • Go to your Google Account Manager and open the Security section. Under security settings, find and open App Passwords. Generate a new app password and copy it immediately, as Google only shows this password once. If you do not copy and save it at that moment, you will need to generate a new one.

Step 1: Access Your Certopus Account

Start by logging into your Certopus account. If you don’t already have one, create a new account and complete the initial setup.

Step 2: Open Profile Settings

Once you're on the dashboard, locate your profile icon in the top-right corner. Click on it to open the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Choose Your Email Provider

From the dropdown options, select your email provider. In this case, choose Gmail / Google Workspace.

Step 4: Enter SMTP Configuration Details

Now, input the server configuration details provided by your email service. This typically includes:

  • SMTP Server Address

  • Port Number

  • Username (your email address)

  • Password or App Password

Make sure the credentials are accurate to avoid connection issues.

Step 5: Save and Test Configuration

Click Save to store your settings.
After saving, use the Send Test Email option to verify that your SMTP configuration is working correctly.

Step 6: Apply SMTP to Your Event

Next, open the event you’ve created in Certopus.
Navigate to the Mailing section and look for the Email Service option.

Step 7: Select Custom SMTP

From the dropdown, select Custom SMTP, then click Save to apply the configuration.

Final Result

Your custom SMTP setup is now complete. All emails related to your event will be sent using your configured Gmail or Google Workspace account.
